Virginia Torrego is a ceramic artist based in Selva, Mallorca. She creates her work in her beautiful studio, LA3, where she also offers ceramic classes and workshops.
Her ceramics are distinguished by organic forms, earthy tones, and raw volcanic textures. Working with natural clay, self-developed mineral blends, and ashes, Virginia creates pieces that reflect a deep connection to nature. She often applies multiple layers of materials to a single piece and refires her work several times, allowing rich textures and subtle variations to emerge.
Each creation is entirely unique. Guided by a slow and mindful process, Virginia draws constant inspiration from the natural world, embracing its imperfections, rhythms, and transformative beauty.

HOW THEY WORK is a nonprofit project that aims to bring together creative artists from all over the Balearic Islands.
The website seeks to present some rare, behind-the-scenes insights into the life and work of local artists and artisans at their studios. In order to capture the unique character of their work, we provided different photographers for each participant of the project. We hope this website will serve as a useful guide for anyone interested in discovering and supporting their work.
We strongly believe in local communities as a source of health, creativity and support. Nowadays they seem especially important against the selfish individualism and wasteful consumerism that contribute to the destruction of our planet. We wish this website to be the beginning of many beautiful relationships and creative connections.
This project has been founded by Accidente con Flores studio.
It would not be possible without the help of our dear friend Maciek Goldsztejn.
Thank you very much!
This is an ongoing project; if you are interested in presenting your work on our website, contact us at: howtheyworkinfo@gmail.com
